Scattered Acres Sport Horses

Working Students

Working students learn in all aspects of barn management, horse training, eventing competition grooming, riding instruction, and equestrian business management. Working student will receive riding lessons on a regular basis, will help to keep school horses in training, and assist in all aspects of stable management.

This is a great opportunity to train with a highly competitive upper level event rider and coach who has successfully brought many students to high levels of horsemanship. Her students and horses have captured titles such as Novice Adult Amateur Rider of the Year, Adult Rider of the Year, Reserve Champion at Area II Championships, Champion at the Waredaca 3-day, and much more.

This is also a great opportunity to assist in the daily workings of the Equine Assisted Psychotherapy program HEAL, which operates with Scattered Acres Sport Horses.

On-site quarters available, availability to bring one horse to board, stipend, opportunity to compete at recognized USEA events, and excellent atmosphere.

*Scattered Acres only takes working students who can commit to a year-long contract.

Testimonial from a former Working Student:

Hi Autumn,
I have been thinking about my time at the farm a lot lately since I have been establishing myself as an assistant trainer at a new farm. I wanted to thank you and Lisa for everything you have taught me. The information that I obtained during my year there allows me to be the rider I am today! I can still hear your voice in my head sometimes as I’m riding. One thing that you always said to me that helps me a lot is, “if what your doing isn’t working, then change it.” Your wisdom has really made an impact on me and will continue to make an impact on me for the rest of my life! I hope your new working student is doing well and becoming a part of the Scattered Acres Family like I did. Good luck on your upcoming show season this year, I hope all of your horses are doing well!
Sincerely,
Kaceylin
